Most people in the UK will have heard of Royal Ascot. One of the most well known horse racing events in the world, it is also famous for its fashion, in particular - Ladies hats.
Some of the most outlandish and amazing hat and head dress creations can be seen at this sporting event. There is quite a strict dress code though, and if you break the code you wont be allowed in.
Some of my readers from across the pond may be interested to know that there are still places which you can go to where you have to play by the fashion rules of the organisers. Going to Ascot this year and not sure what the rules are ?
Watch the video below to make sure you are wearing the right clothes to get it
What are your thoughts on this - should you be told what you can and cant wear ?

Fashion is there a point to it all ?
I had just finished loading more high heel shoes onto my website and was settling down to watch a bit of telly. One of those adverts came on from Oxfam about a very sick and hungry little girl that needed help. It breaks my heart, it really does.
I suddenly thought to myself " how shallow am I ? all I talk about are shoes, trends, whats hot on the catwalk and here is this little child with nothing to eat " I donated my money and sat back and thought about it a bit more .
What we wear on our bodies and on our feet is a mega huge industry, that provides employment to millions of people across the globe. From the designers to the people who farm and collect the raw materials, fashion provides a living of some description in countries all over the world.
While I was writing this, I was also thinking about the sweat shops, employment of children, pollution and all the other wrongs that have been done in the name of " what am I going to wear today" .
I know that fashion houses and brands need to get their act together and work extra hard to stop the use of child labour and close the sweat shops. They need to make sure that farm labourers get a living wage and secure employment. Factories should not spew pollutant chemicals into the rivers and surrounding country side. and Nike and the others need to police that I know all this and so do the brands.
What I am saying is - instead of knocking fashion, lets celebrate all the good that it does, and at the same time encourage the brands and the owners to do much much more to improve the lives of the millions of people who work in the industry in some way.
What do you think ? leave comments in the box below

Errr do these high heel shoes come in black ?
Ive got a bit of a bug for doing sets again. Especially since PleaserUSA have so many gorgeous new ranges of shoes. Most of the shoes have very high heels, so they may take a bit of practice when you wear them for the first time.
I featured these before, and yes they do come in black.
Thought I would do a bit of a vintage feel - the 1950's look is really hot right now. So many young women wearing perfectly coiffured hair, not one hair out of place and bright red matt lipstick and finished with lots of flicked - up eyeliner.
If you love this look or you want me to design a set just for you, let me know.
If you would like to order the high heel shoes, they are on www.highheel-shoes.com

Margaret Thatcher 1980's Style Icon ?
Unless you have lived on the moon, most people have heard of Margaret Thatcher. With her passing earlier in the week, every part of her political and private life will be picked over and examined by the written press and the media.
What ever your political views, there is no escaping the fact that she was one of the most recognisable politicians in the world.
She always looked immaculately turned out. Not a hair out of place, perfectly applied makeup and a well tailored suit, she was the epitomey of English middle class style.
Apparantly she only slept four hours a night, so how she managed to always look so perfectly groomed is pretty amazing.
It must have been difficult to decide what to wear . She worked with men, so wearing anything too pretty, may have meant that she was not taken seriously by her very grey suited male colleagues. She managed to mix feminine style with a politicians toughness and she did it very well.
There is no "fashion " in that photograph of her . She would not have looked out of place in any decade since the 1950's
Sadly, once women reach a certain age, unless they are a celebrity or a movie star, fashion is almost out of bounds. I suppose it is a bit like the Queen, she never dyed her hair in different colours or decided to go for a cute bob, she is always the same, always looks amazing but within the realms of what people expect from their monarch.
Now before you all start jumping up and down, I am not comparing Margaret Thatcher with the Queen . I just want to discuss the fashion and the style of one of the most recognisable icons of the last few decades.
What do you think about the fashion style of women politicians ? Should they be judged at all on their appearance or should we just let the politics do the talking ?
